In the 2009 CPSO renewal application, the survey question D. 8. a) asks if we perform exposure-prone procedures. One of these is repair of major trauma. Are you guys answering yes or no?
I replied yes.It seems that if any one is at risk, it would obviously be the surgeons as their time with a needle is a high percentage of their work. That being said, our patients are more unpredictable, so my thinking is less percentage of time with a needle, but higher incidence of being stuck.Don;t know what others are doing.d
